Garden Weeding

I charge $50 for the first hour, and $40 for following hours. I can offer 4 hour weeding slots.

I do reserve the right to reschedule the job at no charge due to heavy weather. I keep a close eye on forecasts and usually can provide a different time for you promptly.

A good weeding program actually starts in March and continues on throughout spring and summer. Weed growth can drop off briefly after the hottest part of summer, but then it picks right back up with Fall rains.

So, aside from the very dead of winter, there isn’t a time that weeds aren’t invading.

Shown below: My favorite tools. I have many, but these are in high rotation.
Clockwise from left: Garden fork, U-shaped root underminer, “Toothy Grin” fang rake (usually used with a long handle, but I like this hand-held), Japanese lavender harvest wand (great for undermining small root balls), heavy vintage pole-pruner tip (fantastic for dividing large root masses), short weed stabber, Hula hoe, metal-claw rake, Hori Hori soil knife.

Typical weedy veggie patch with a mix of local weeds.
Weeds? Where? This took about 45 minutes and included the veggie beds to the left. Calendula sprigs in the front were left to grow, it’s a medicinal herb.
